Your hot tub can really aid in your exercise routines and goals. One of the questions we are often asked by our customers is, “Is it better to soak in a spa before or after a workout?”
The answer is, actually you’ll derive significant benefits from using your hot tub, both before, and after a workout. For example, a good plan is to enjoy a good 15-20 minute soak, before working out, while incorporating a stretching routine. Then commence your cardio exercise routine of running, biking, tennis, swimming laps, or whatever your choice is, for 30-60 minutes. Take a short 5-minute break and hydrate; followed by a strength training/weight lifting routine. Conclude by enjoying a 15-20 minute relaxing soak; don’t forget to turn on the jets!
If your time is limited, and you have to choose between before or after, then it is a matter of personal preference. If you need the time to stretch, warm up an get motivated, then enjoy some spa time before your workout routine. If however, you typically experience post-workout fatigue and soreness, then you’ll find it more beneficial to enjoy your spa time afterward. Try both ways and see what works best for you.
